A Girl Can Dream Right?

When did October get here?  What on earth happened to me since my last time writing?  Where have I been?  What is going on with me?   These are just a few things running through my mind currently.  I seemed to have taken a break from the computer and replaced my time binge watching everything and all things that have to do with this election.  I won’t get into a political war on my blog about the candidates and policies {has anyone talked policies}?  I will however admit that I have a serious problem, I can’t seem to walk away or turn it off.  I want to, I really really do, but I can’t.  It is now to the point where every t.v. in the house shows the last watched section and BRAVO has been replaced with CNN and Fox News.  I don’t know which has more views, because I go…  Read More…

Summer Wrap Up and Kids Back to School

Oh my gosh!  Where and how do I even begin this?  I have taken a very long sabbatical from the blog world.  Here’s the deal,  summer was coming and I knew we had some vacations planned.  I was killing it at Pure Barre going pretty much six days a week and actually challenged myself to 30 days in a row {completed} while hitting over 300 classes.  I wanted to write and share updates on life and healthy living, the kids, food and all my Pure Barre badness, but instead just unplugged.  This mom needed a mental break from technology writing {Instagram doesn’t count as writing}.  Summer consisted of a nice ten days relaxing in Cabo San Lucas, water aerobics, stair running {that ended after the second, swimming with dolphins, snorkeling, and educating myself on how many ways to drink rum. Spending a week in South Lake Tahoe was the way…  Read More…

The Ultimate Coffee Date 2016 #6

Good morning and hello to a new month!  So here we are again, the first Saturday of the month and we are meeting for coffee.  I am so happy to be joining my co-hosts Deborah and Coco and I am so looking forward to catching up.  Let’s go with this first … I have taken a very much too long break from blogging as I have been taking time just living each day being “un-plugged” from the keyboard.  I have had many ideas in my mind about what I have wanted to write about and share with all you, however I just needed to get myself into the right frame of mind.  Blogging is not easy {I am no professional} when I do write, I want to be as authentic as possible and hopefully have you connect with me and really feel what I am sharing.  Okay, lets chat and…  Read More…

Goat Cheese and Sundried Tomato Stuffed Chicken

The Napa Valley is the newest home for Grocery Outlet and last week I was able to attend the grand opening.  As a mom who believes in feeding her family the healthiest way possible, using fresh ingredients and sticking to a budget, the Grocery Outlet is a for sure place to find what I need.  I was pleasantly surprised to see familiar name brand products at such discounted prices.  I was very happy to see that Grocery Outlet has a NOSH program.  This is all about Natural, Organic, Specialty and Health items and food.  I can shop my healthy options for meals and for the house at great prices. I found some Foster Farms split bone in chicken breasts and thought of a great dinner idea for the family. Grocery Outlet Napa Valley Grand Opening

Big news!  Grocery Outlet has arrived and has a new home in the Napa Valley.  I will be totally honest with you, I have never stepped foot in a {GO} before and was invited to visit this new one.  I was immediately intrigued and had to go check it out.  I had questions because I really didn’t understand the concept, was it a warehouse or did you need a membership?  Were you to buy items in bulk? Not at all, in fact just the opposite.  Grocery Outlet is not a warehouse and no you do not have to buy in bulk.  Just a regular grocery store with lower prices.  The  Napa Valley location is large and open with all the items and products placed neatly and easy to see and find.  I was greeted by friendly staff and walked through the doors with my eyes wide open and my mouth…  Read More…

Easter Sunday, Reflecting and A Giant Peep

I have been waiting and wanting to find the time to sit and write again.  Since my last post, I have been able to pull myself together and I am happily back on track with life and my fitness routine. Yesterday morning had me waking before the husband and kids.  I waited patiently waiting for all of them to emerge from their beds.  Baskets were downstairs delivered from the “bunny”.   I found myself sitting quietly and enjoying a cup of coffee and reflecting at the same time.  It was going to be somewhat of a difficult day and some sadness would be in my heart.  I would be remembering my grandfather Benson {Easter was a favorite holiday of his} who passed on this day in 2011 at 95.  I would be thinking of my very large family and how sad it is that we are not close, regardless of what…  Read More…

Putting Me Back Together Again

I knew I had to get back to my routine, I new it would be difficult, but the only way to get through the days ahead, was to get back on track.  I was doing so well attending my Pure Barre classes, I was feeling amazing and my body had kicked into fit mode.  Then one day {weeks ago} everything changed and honestly, I was terrified.  I was actually nervous to walk back into the place that I visited just about every day of the week.  The quaint studio down the street from my own home {where I pretty much knew everyone} suddenly became one of the scariest places for me.  The last time I had entered through the doors, I had broken down and found myself sobbing over the fact that we had just said goodbye to our son as he shipped of to the Army Rangers program.  I…  Read More…
