A Team United

High school, the time of your life when you are free.  Free to be young, active, alive and just having a blast.  Learning new things, making mistakes, going to dances, parties, driving, playing sports, dating.  Our children are growing and glowing bright in these years.  They are making their way forward into the big huge world out there and we could not be more proud and excited for them.  Every once in a while a bump, a hiccup, a road block  seems to throw a wrench into the works of a young Continue Reading...

Fall is just around the corner and we think of colors, leaves, pumpkins, chilly weather, foggy mornings, comfort food, baking, getting cozied up and just embracing the season coming.  Well it also means October  is near and that is the month for Breast Cancer Awareness.  Maybe we don't speak of it much, maybe we are afraid to talk about it, maybe we have a personal connection or story about it, either way it is all around us and we see Pink everywhere.  Ribbons, buttons, shirts, shoelaces, Continue Reading...

An Unexpected Family Day

2014-09-13 02.43.26

One of the things that drives me the most nuts, is when kids hang out on their "electronics" for hours at a time.  I  know in our home, we have guidelines for that.  The kids can enjoy some "techy" time on their devices {no violent games allowed} and they are shut off after an allotted time.  I love trying to find activities for us to do as a family on the weekends.  Sure Sunday is set aside for football games and college games are Saturday's, but as a mom who just loves to get her kids out and Continue Reading...

The Love Story

20130722_180556

The "love story" is usually something you read about in a book.  The fairytale that has the princess finding her prince and living happily ever after.  It is played out on a big screen for us to watch, while holding that large bucket of popcorn in our laps and wiping tears from our eyes with our sleeves.  The love story is something you hear about while sitting around the family table reminiscing about your grandparents.  A love story can be the most simple or the most grand of stories.  I often Continue Reading...

I Am A Runner

lyndarun

Since the kids have been back in school, my early morning 5:30 a.m. run schedule has been moved to the 9:00 a.m. run schedule.  I knew this was going to happen, I actually caught myself coming up with excuses as to why this would suck {okay maybe a bit harsh, but I was bummed out}.  I knew that the later the morning got, I would have more reasons to talk my way out of going.  I would get caught up on my computer, posting on facebook, tweeting, reading fellow bloggers, going through both email Continue Reading...

2014-07-11 22.12.57

Good Morning and thank you for joining us for coffee and chat time. Let's dish shall we?  If we were having coffee this morning, I would tell you that I am getting ready for my next half marathon.  I have two options coming up quickly one in September {the Lake Tahoe Marathon} and one in November {the Napa Valley Harvest Half Marathon}.  I assume I could pull them both off, but running in Lake Tahoe by September seems a bit aggressive, since I would be running in a different altitude and Continue Reading...
