The Zooma Napa Valley Half Marathon Is Back 2015

Napa Valley Zooma

I have some exciting news to share this morning!  The Zooma Women's Race Series  is back in Napa Valley  and I could not be more excited.  Last year was the inaugural year for this race and it was such a huge success, they are doing this again.  I had the opportunity to be a race ambassador  last year and had an amazing time.  I was working with other great women {fellow ambassadors}, I was training hard, meeting new people and just enjoying and embracing being a runner.  I had low Continue Reading...

Puritan’s Pride Seasonal Smoothie and Giveaway

Puritan's Pride Pumpkin Smoothie

Smoothies are so great no matter what time of the year.  I love making a smoothie for a pre-run or post-run quick meal.  I make smoothies for the kids for a quick addition to their breakfast in the morning, an afternoon snack after school.  Smoothies even make for a great dessert in the evening.  With so many options out there to make and come up with, it sure helps when I have Puritan's Pride and their products to get creative.   I have been lucky enough to join Puritan's Pride and their three Continue Reading...

Quick, Easy Breakfast Quesadilla

Hillshire Farms

I don't know what it is about fall and food, but I love having bigger and more pumped up breakfasts during this season, more so than summer.  This past weekend consisted of football, the world series {I live right here in Giant's territory} and finally rain.  Breakfast meant making something yummy, quick, easy and hearty.  Hillshire Farms made for a great start to the breakfast quesadilla. I was compensated for this post by Hillshire Farms through the Mom It Continue Reading...

Napa Valley Turkey Trot 2014

Napa Valley Turkey Trot

It's back and it's in the wine country.  The 2nd Annual Napa Valley Turkey Trot.   So excited, I loved running this 5k with daughter last year.  It is located at the Napa Valley College.  The route is great, just enough flat, with a touch of hills and slope {not too many}.   Last year they had walkers, runners, strollers and dogs.  Everyone is welcome to join in and the morning is full of great energy. The Turkey Trot and Salvation Army work together to feed 100 Napa families {or Continue Reading...

Roasted Butternut Squash and Carrot Soup

Roasted Butternut Squash Soup

Fall is here ... Finally!  Okay I am in California and we have been having some extremely hot weather, but we have had few days of chilly cold and some sprinkles.  With that said, I was so excited to head into the kitchen yesterday afternoon and whip up some soup.  I just happen to have a butternut squash sitting around and plenty of ingredients to make some, so I decided to do this ... Roasted Butternut Squash and Carrot Soup Ingredients 1 Butternut Squash 2 -3 Carrots 3 tbsp Olive Continue Reading...

Random Thoughts and Being A Blogger

Random Blogging

Blogging is so interesting.  You can be a one niche kind of blogger and be amaze balls at that subject, let's say baking or crafting, or DIY projects {no, definitely not me}.  OR you can be a super serious writer blogger, sharing information and facts.  You can be a really great writer as a blogger and just create or write stories about fact or fiction.  You can be strictly a hardcore fitness blogger, who sticks with the basics about fitness and working out.  You can blog about meal planning.  Continue Reading...

The 100 Percent Mom

100 Percent Mom

Being a mom is the most rewarding yet most thankless jobs ever {am I right}?  Come on, we know it.  Whether we are stay at home moms, or working moms, it is a job that requires us to be 100% all the time.  Okay let's back up .... When I say the 100% comment, I don't mean we need to be perfect.  Obviously we are NOT.  However, we sure put a lot of pressure on us to be the best moms we can be OR be the better mom than "that" one {you know, the mom who just seems like she has all her shit Continue Reading...

#BlOGTOBER14 DAY 8 – A Letter To Myself In 10 Years

Letter To Myself

I love when I have some quiet time {mostly mornings} to go through and catch up on reading.  I am not reading a book or magazine, I tend to read other blogs.  Just last week, I was so happy to stumble upon Ange, Taylor and Helene and found the Blogtober14 blogging prompt challenge.  What a great way to spend October. Today is day 8 of the prompt and it is a letter to ourselves in 10 years.  I enjoyed going through as many of the linked blogs that I could get to and in doing so, I had noticed Continue Reading...
