Chocolate Chai Latte

Fall and winter means time for lattes, coffee and tea.  I am not one to go to Starbucks everyday and get my “fix”, I actually make enjoy making my coffee drinks at home.  The only problem is, I seem to be missing out on the ever so popular Red Starbucks Cups.

Today is an easy Chocolate Chai Latte made with zero sugar Almond Milk.

INGREDIENTS

  • Tazo Chocolate Chai Latte Concentrate
  • Zero Sugar Almond Milk {plain or vanilla}
  • Cinnamon

This is seriously too easy…

Heat 1 cup of almond milk {measuring depends on how much you want to make, this was for a large cup}, bring the almond milk to somewhat of a boil, but whisk until frothy.  Add 1/4 to 1/2 cup of the chocolate chai latte mix and continue to whisk together.  You want to continue whisking until both ingredients are “frothed” together.

Pour into you favorite holiday mug and sprinkle some cinnamon on top.  Who needs Starbucks when you can create you own at home and far less calories and sugar count than what you are getting out!

  • Chocolate Latte concentrate 20 grams sugar per 1/2 cup + 90 cals with 2% milk {I used Almond milk so better}.
  • Unsweetened Almond Milk 0 grams of sugar + 30 cals per 1 cup

You do the math, sounds pretty good to me and taste great.  I added a sliced banana with organic peanut butter and few dark chocolate chips for a fun snack.Oh and that “red cup“….Well thanks to my loving and super amazing hubby, I have my very own Starbucks Holiday Mug to last a lifetime

Enjoy, Lynda

  1. Im a big tea drinking – either English breakfast or fruit tea, and I always take a travel mug of tea in my car

  2. If it was not so late, I would have one. I’m going to try it this week for sure!

  3. Oh yum Lynda! I haven’t tried Tazo Chai Latte yet! I am excited to check it out! Thanks for the recipe! I’m not a Starbucks person either! Much cheaper to make at home 🙂

  4. This sounds so good and even I can make this:) I love a chia latte haven’t tried a chocolate one. I have a Starbucks gift card that is burning a whole in my pocket. It’s just in case of emergency you know that “mommy timeout” I believe in so much :). I don’t very often, because of the calories, but when I do I have a pumpkin spiced latte…one so far this year.

  5. I didn’t know you could get Chocolate Chia concentrate – i must find it!
