Let’s Recap The #MNB Challenge Week One

Okay so if you have seen my facebook site or have been following along with my blog, then you will know that I have been invited by @lornajaneactive and @fitapproach to join other amazing women in the Move Nourish Believe Challenge.  Week 1 was all about MOVE.


  • Sweating It Out… I was able to do this by attending my Pure Barre classes daily.  Yes you can sweat in Pure Barre {trust me}.
  • Changing It Up… Jillian Michaels DVD {Ripped in 30} adding this to the mix makes it fun.
  • Planking… Love this challenge {I was not able to get my last plank time of 5 mins, but am working towards it}.
  • Buddy Up… Heading out for a rainy hike with the family is fun and healthy.
  • Fave Friday… We are to pick some of our five fitness favorites.  This could be a long list, but I did some thinking and my my favorite fitness items are the times I spend with my family.

I am really enjoying this challenge and being held accountable.  Next week we move on to NOURISH.  I can’t wait for that, because it’s all about food.

  3. Whoa you are totally out of my league. BEFORE I was pregnant my plank was about oh, 45 seconds… and the last 15 seconds of that was pretty much cheating. Also, I tried the Jillian Michaels DVD, but I don’t think she really likes me much – she yelled at me a lot and it hurt my feelings. Maybe after I get this baby out of me I can try to work my way up!

  4. This sounds like a great challenge. It’s so good to motivate each other with fitness programs. I really want to get into some kind of regular plank challenge but I’m afraid that yet again my fitness plans seem to have gone by the wayside!   5. Yes you most definitely can sweat during a Barre class! I lost half my baby weight from my first child within 30 days of doing Barre! Good luck on the challenge!

  11. I’ll copy everybody who said “good job on the plank!”. I have been working mine back up, and 45 seconds is about my current max, but I’m feeling inspired now. Love sweating while running, and doing heavy squats though I don’t sweat as much during those.

  12. Awesome! I had good intentions – took a photo of day 1 and everything, and then forgot to upload it, so was quite annoyed at myself. But I’m still trying to incorporate the daily challenges. Should be a good week 🙂

  13. I’ve been looking for motivation to work out more regularly. I was going 5-6 times a week to the gym but once the sub zero temps came in after Christmas, I’ve been making a lot of excuses. I’ve just been getting away with eating healthy and not so much sweating. I’m so glad your blog is in my SITS group!

  18. This sounds like fun and would probably keep me accountable. My favorite way to sweat is going to a spin class, it’s a great way to work out any frustrations or stress!

    • Oh my gosh Mariah…I have not done a spin class in years…and I slipped off the bike {ouch} my pedals took off to fast for my feet and I was just ahot mess in there {literally a sweaty hot mess}…I wonder if I will ever try it out again ???? hmmmm

  19. This is a great idea! I do have to caution against the 5 minute plank. Our shoulders are not meant to take that kind of sustained pressure. Stopping by from SITS comment love.

  26. My favorite workout is swimming laps. I think I was a fish in another life. Keep up the good work!

    • Oh Melissa our daughter swam on the local swim team for 4 seasons and I loved watching her. Swimming is such a beautiful sport, I loved all the swim meets and just the entire swim world. She has chosen to try soccer and volleyball now. {I sure wish she was still swimming} 🙂
