The Ulitmate Coffee Date #2

Happy Saturday and happy May.  I am so super jazzed to be here again having coffee with you {or tea or whatever your liking this beautiful morning}.  This is the second Ultimate Coffee Date hosted by myself, Nikki and Jill.  I can’t wait to share with you and I am looking so forward to you linking up and sharing with us.

First of all, let’s greet one another with hellos and hugs as we are settling in for some chat time.

While we were having coffee this morning, I would tell you that our middle son starts his Babe Ruth baseball season today and plays on two teams, so we have back to back games and another on Sunday.  Baseball season this year is going to be very busy.

While we were having coffee this morning, I would tell you I did a fun blog post that was inspired by Drew Barrymore and her book.  It is a great project and really made me stop and pay attention to what is around us {even more so than I do now}.

While we were having coffee this morning, I would tell you that I am really getting into my running and setting my distance goals weekly as my Zooma half marathon is next month and I am super excited to cross the finish line and complete it {I am up to 4 miles at current, but goaling for 6 miles by the next two weeks}.

While we were having coffee this morning, I would tell you that I was able to have an actual phone conversation with out oldest son {22} on the phone instead of just texting.  We chatted for over an hour and it was the best night ever!  {kids these days, it is difficult to get them on the phone to chat without having to help them with something}.

While we were having coffee this morning, I would tell you I took a break from Pure Barre class and am getting ready to start back again, I miss it and I love how quickly my body changes when going consistently.

While we were having coffee this morning, I would tell you that I have actually given up coffee going on two weeks now and I honestly feel great.  My green tea is my hot go to in place of the coffee and I don’t even miss it {yet}.

While we were having coffee this morning, I would tell you I am loving the new Vega Bars  and you must check them out.  Seriously great and gluten free, plant based, non-gmo and nothing artifical.  Don’t just take my word, go try them out.

While we were having coffee this morning, I would tell you that for some reason the hair on my legs seems to be growing much faster lately.  I swear I have to shave more often and it is driving me nuts.  I wonder if my legs know it is Spring time and therefore I must keep up on them.

While we were having coffee this morning, I would tell you that I can’t wait until Thursday morning because I get to FINALLY get my roots done!  My colorist has been out due to knee surgery for 2 months and my blonde hair has gone 12 weeks and my head is not happy.  I am looking forward to spending hours in the chair that day.

While we were having coffee this morning, I would tell you  that the roses are all in bloom on our street and my lovely neighbor lets me clip her roses from her tree all the time and I love placing them in vintage buckets all around the house or on the back patio.  Free, fresh flowers are always the best.

While we were having coffee this morning, I would tell you that I rescued a lost dog last week while out running.  I actually carried him to his home {about 8 blocks from where he was} and just chalked it up to God having another plan for me that day instead of running.

If we were having coffee, what would you tell us? Link up your “coffee” post here.

  1. It is so hard to have a regular conversations with my teens too! Too funny. I am also training for a Zooma race at the end of May in Annapolis. I am coming back after a stress fracture and it is going a little slower than I would like. I am trying to do it smartly so I don’t re injure my shin. I’m off to an amazing Moms Run This Town event this morning which I will be sharing lots of pics from. Nice having coffee with you! Thanks for the invite

  2. I know what you mean about phone calls from our kids. I always worry when they call, but am so glad when they really just want to talk!

  3. Yea for a real conversation with your son! I’m sometimes afraid that thanks to texting the next generation is missing out on real conversations. Good luck with your mileage increase!

  4. Best of luck in your training! If you can do 4 you will be able to do 6 miles no problem 🙂 I’d like to try a ZOOMA race eventually, I’ve heard great things about them. I’ve never tried a Barre type class though I keep seeing people talk about it! There are 2 studios near me, though I’ve heard people do online videos too – I’ll have to check it out!

  5. That’s so exciting your half marathon is almost here! It will feel amazing to cross the finish line! I’ve always wanted to take a Barre class. I’ll have to check some out in my area. They look like fun and a great workout!

  6. You’re going to rock the half and while you’re at it enjoy the run! I love the new Vega bars! The chocolate mint recovery bar is fabulous! I gave up coffee for 30 days and didn’t really notice much of a difference in how I felt. Happily drinking coffee again!

  8. Great conversation starters! You have so many interesting ideas.

  9. That *is* impressive, to have an actual phone conversation with a 22-year-old – my 19-year-old sister never says more than a few words on a phone, she’s all about the texting!

  10. Guilty. I really dislike talking on the phone too, although I’m *much* older than your son. I know it’s terribly impersonal but I can multitask so much better if I’m texting. Hmmm, that sounds horrible. Ok, I’m going to call my parents. Thanks for the guilt trip, Mom 😉

  11. The Drew Barrymore post of hearts was beautiful. It is amazing what we find when we really pay attention, isn’t it? And so glad you got to speak with your son on the phone. For a momma, I bet there’s no better way to spend her time!

  12. Lol, my hair on my legs too Lynda! Also I need my roots done, a recent picture looked as if I was blading in the front because the gray hair that is coming in 🙁 I wanted to take a sharpie and color it in or draw on a tiara. I will try to come up with a post by next coffee date, I actually had a real life one with fellow bloggers this past Saturday 🙂
