The Ultimate Coffee Date #4

Good morning, happy Saturday and July!  Wow, this year is really moving fast for me.  I was just in the car this last week with the family and said to my hubby {just randomly} that Christmas was only five months away.  Okay, that’s enough of that, let’s get down to business and take some time to sit and catch up.  Let’s have coffee

If we were having coffee, I would tell you that … I completed my first half marathon {finally} and I could not be more excited to do my next one.  I could just still be on cloud nine and just have not realized how crazy I am to want to do another. LOL

If we were having coffee, I would tell you that … We decided to do a “staycation” last week and took the kids up to Healdsburg for a getaway.  About an hour north of Sonoma, but just nice to be spontaneous and take off.  Beautiful scenery, super cute town, great restaurants, shopping, swimming and wine.  Just relaxing and checking out for a while.

If we were having coffee, I would tell you that … I took a Surfset  class in San Francisco a few weeks ago with some of my fellow Fit Approach {sweat pink} sisters and I had a blast.  What a workout, holly sweat balls!  I have more info and pics on a future post this week {keep posted}.  If you have not tried one yet, or can find one in your area, I suggest doing so.  It is still up and coming.

If we were having coffee, I would tell you that …  the lavender is growing like crazy again around here.  I love it, however I am not a fan of the bees that comes with it.  Our landscaper is great, he will cut and wrap all the lavender for me and leave it by my porch.  I love putting some in the kitchen, and in the bathroom.

If we were having coffee, I would tell you that … thanks to my hubby, we have found our latest summer treat.
The Talenti Gelato Pops.  Yes, I said gelato pops.  We have had Talenti before and had to back away, because it is so crazy good, then we came across these.  Find them, try them, but be warned … you will have an addiction problem. You can most likely find these at your Whole Foods market.

If we were having coffee, I would tell you that … Sometimes I just sit and eat an entire watermelon in one day.  How bad is that? Is that bad?  I love cutting watermelon {seedless of course} and leaving it in big cubes so they are easy to eat with our fingers.  This is the perfect kid snack for the summer, right?  Okay, so I find myself checking out once in a while and catching up on the DVR with my cool bowl of “summer”.

If we were having coffee, I would tell you that … I don’t have a bike, but the kids do.  I have never been a “bike rider”, but I do enjoy hoping on theirs and just race up and down the street.  I wish I could learn to ride “hands free”, the kids keep trying to teach me, but it is just not happening.  This mom will keep both hands on the bike.

If we were having coffee, I would tell you that … we are totally into doing cheesy family selfies.  Yep, we are dorks.  Our daughter is the princess of the “selfies” and know we are joining in.  Either to bug her or embarrass her, either way, we have fun.

    I have been eating all the watermelon too! But the damn stuff gives me a stomachache every time 🙁 It’s a consequence I am willing to overlook though 😉

  3. I am totally with you on both the Talenti Sea Salt gelato and the whole watermelon thing. There is almost never leftover watermelon in our house! There are worse things to eat that much of, right?

  4. So happy that you loved your half race! We told you it was addictive. LOL. I’m dying to do one of those surf classes we don’t get cool stuff in DC until about 2 years after you hip California people do. I saw it on Shark Tank last year. Fun meeting for coffee again. 🙂

  6. Good job on your half. I keep saying I might try a 5K … but have yet to do so.

    I’m not a vacation gal … I could maybe handle a staycation though 🙂 I’m actually staying home along while hubs takes the kids on a vacation in a few weeks and I’m looking forward to that.

    I love watermelon (seedless of course) cut into big chunks. I mean BIG chunks. For some reason if it’s cut into small chunks, it totally looses it’s appeal for me.

    I’m not really a biker either. I have been hitting the stationary bike more (and reading while I ride) but I’m not an outdoor bike gal. My poor 10-year old never mastered it, I’m wondering when that will become a problem for him (the 8-year old has been able to ride for a couple of years now) …

    I haven’t written up my Coffee Date yet, but I plan to! 🙂

    My partner kept teasing me that I couldn’t ride a bike. So I got on his bike for the first time in 10 years. I was scared to even push off because I seriously thought I might not be able to ride like he’d been teasing me about! I could do it though! 😉

  9. Congrats on your half marathon, I saw that you met my friend Rachel too! I was very envious but excited that you two got to meet. The half marathon is my favourite race distance. It’s such a huge accomplishment but still allows a balance between family life and training.

    If we were having coffee I would tell you that I’m getting excited but nervous for my 10 yr anniversary vacation with my husband. We’ve discussed going to Saratoga Springs to spend some time at the racetrack, visiting wineries and walking through the town, but he hasn’t booked us in anywhere yet. I’m trying to have faith in hubby and his lack of planning, thinking partly that he’ll surprise me with something awesome but I’m also afraid we’ll end up having to buy a tent and staying at a campground.
