The Love Story

The “love story” is usually something you read about in a book.  The fairytale that has the princess finding her prince and living happily ever after.  It is played out on a big screen for us to watch, while holding that large bucket of popcorn in our laps and wiping tears from our eyes with our sleeves.  The love story is something you hear about while sitting around the family table reminiscing about your grandparents.  A love story can be the most simple or the most grand of stories.  I often wonder if people really do just stop and take in the moments, embrace what is around them.  Who do they have in their lives to appreciate.  I take note of exactly what I have and I thank God for it and embrace it.

So to my hubby, this is for you …

You are my true mate
Your sarcasm is on point all the time
You do drive me nuts
We argue with passion and logic {my logic}
We make up with passion
I know you are not the “word” type, but you are the written word type {the miles of letters and notes I have from you}
I love the notes you leave for me in the most random places {my sun glass case}
I love that you know I can’t stand carnations, but I love peonies and roses {pink or white always}
I love that you are always willing to vacuum for me
I love that you bring me a glass of bubbles while I am taking a bubble bath
I love when we tag team getting the kids ready for bed at night, so we can enjoy our “date night”
I wouldn’t enjoy watching Bravo t.v. with anyone else but you {DVR and Housewives always great commentary from you}

I love that you know I hate scary commercials and scary movies, that you skip over them while I close my eyes
I love that I can be me all the time and you accept that
I love that you think I am smart
I love that you think I am beautiful

You are an amazing father and the kids are lucky to have the balance of the two of our personalities
I love that our daughter has you wrapped around her finger
I love that you and our son throw the ball together and that you are great at it {we know I am not }
I love that you trust my instinct when it comes to our children and listen to me
I love being home and raising our children
I love being the wife you come home to
Who better to “gossip” about family than with each other
You do great imitations of everyone we know
I love to people watch with you
I am better at spelling than you are
I am so thankful that you are better at math than I am {our kids are so lucky}
I hate your snoring, but love that you are next to me every night
You pick me up when I fall {literally}
You always say you are sorry

You cover me with a blanket when I nap
I love when we dance together {you spin me}
I blame you when I lock myself out of the house {and you are at work}
I know you really don’t hear my words most of the time as you are distracted, but you say yes and agree anyway
You are patient with me when I call you at work and tell you the most stupid random things
You calm me down when I get so sick at times, that I swear to you God is calling me and I am dying
You make me my favorite home made soup {mostly with no notice} and head out to get the ingredients if we don’t have
You make me laugh so hard at times, I actually wet my pants and we laugh even harder
I love when we go to “high five” each other and you put your hand up even higher so I can’t reach

I love that you support my hobbies
I love that we take our hubby and wife selfie every where we go
I love that you get up and go to all of my races and events {no matter how early}
I love that you stand by my side when I am raising hell about something I am passionate about
I love watching football with you
Thank you for letting me be your “happily ever after” …

You are my love story.  We have each other and an amazing family that is all ours.
