Holiday Mocktails and Puritan’s Pride Giveaway

December is here and so is the last month of the Puritan’s Pride Seasonal Smoothie Challenge.  In case you missed it, we have had three months of smoothies and giveaways thanks to Puritan’s Pride through my affiliation with Fit Approach.  December has us making some “mocktails” in a fun and healthy way.

Time to get in the holiday spirit and here are a few “mocktail ” recipes to make for your next holiday get together …

Frothy Peppermint Almond Nog

1/4  tsp of Peppermint Extract {go easy on this, it is concentrated so very strong}
1/2 cup Plain or Vanilla Flavored Almond Milk
Whipped Cream
Candy Cane {optional}
Directions {chilled glasses work best}
Place ice in glass first
Add your peppermint extract
Add your almond milk
Top with whipped cream
Froth it and serve with candy cane

Lemon Ginger Sparkling Mocktail

1/2 cup Fresh Lemon Juice
8 to 10 Leah Valley Natural Ginger Pieces
1  1/2 Cups Water
1 tsp Stevia {this is very sweet you will not need more than that}
Sparkling Soda Water
Squeeze lemon into bowl and set aside
Slice ginger pieces open to capture the full flavor from inside
Bring water, Stevia and ginger pieces to a boil until reduced down to about 1/2 cup {about 20 mins}
Remove from heat and cool for about 10 mins. discard the ginger pieces
Fill a pitcher with ice and add your water, lemon juice and soda water while stirring
Serve cool and garnish with candied ginger pieces

*Option – add 2 tbs Pomegranate Juice Concentrate for another option
NOTE – these recipes go great with Vodka for another holiday option

Raspberry Pomegranate Chocolate Protein Shake

1 Scoop Myology Chocolate Whey Protein
1 Cup Almond Milk {zero sugar plain}
OR 1 water
2 tbs Pomegranate Concentrate
1/2 cup Fresh Raspberries
Place ingredients in blender with ice and mix
Top with fresh berries great for post workout
