#Whatslovely YOU

February is in full swing and this month is ALL about the LOVE.  All kinds of love and I am sharing something pretty fun with all of you.  I am joining up with Fitzala and the #whatslovely project.  Click HERE for details and prompts.

#whatslovely YOU

For an entire week, we’ll be challenging you to take a hard look at your life and appreciate all of the lovely things that make you, YOU! #whatslovely is more than loving the way you look in your favorite outfit. Our campaign is about starting the conversation of self-love with women. With Valentine’s Day approaching, we want women to focus more on the love aspect of the holiday. We want to encourage women to love their life…their entire life. Throughout the campaign we’ll be asking you to think about the lovely things about yourself, about your mental and physical strength, about your relationships with your friends and family and much more!

Monday – YOU
Tuesday – Friendship
Wednesday – Working Out
Thursday –  Food
Friday – Strength
Saturday – Love

YOU … What is it that you love about yourself?  It can be anything from simple to complex.
How we look in an outfit.
How we wear our hair.
Are you a natural down to earth gal OR do you love your makeup?
Are you funny or serious?
Do you laugh so hard you tend to pee your pants?
Do you snort out loud when you laugh?
It’s YOU, so there must be something you love about yourself.

I can always laugh at myself.  I love that about me.  Though I am a pretty serious gal, I know that life is way too short to not just be silly and have fun.  Throw out the worry of being judged, who cares?  The little simple things in life are always right in front of us and we tend to not see them because we are too wrapped up in how we might appear to others.  I love that I am simple, not glam, just down to earth.  I love that I have passion and emotion about things that are important to me.
I embrace that I can be naive at times.  I wear my on my sleeve.  I love who I am.

  1. Lynda, I love this post! Thank you so much for joining in on #whatslovely.

Being comfortable with who you are and having fun are so important to enjoying life! The ability to laugh at yourself isn’t something everyone has. And I love what you said about being wrapped up in worrying about how you appear to others. That sucks out so much of our time and energy – seeing and enjoying the little things matters!!

  2. Great post and I love the motive behind it.

I love that I can find humor in almost any situation, often inappropriately, and I can make pretty much anything fun-for me at least.

  3. Aww, this is an awesome idea! 😀

I love that I have so many interests (keeps my life exciting! ;P ) and that I always do my best to see the good in others and the silver linings in situations! :]

  4. Wow, this is a tough one. I think since having kids, I’ve lost a lot of me and it’s hard to find something that I love about myself, sad isn’t it? It’s hard to lose focus when you are so wrapped up in loving and caring for others which is what I do all of the time. Mommy to two small boys and pediatric intensive care nurse, spouse. I love that I am a great nurturer, but I definitely feel like I’m not a good nurturer towards myself…something to work on!

    • Sue, your hands are so full. I assume with your job, you really get attached and drawn in . I could not imagine. I know your blog is really cool and you are very inspiring. Use that and see what you create and step back, take a good look. See how amazing you are from our eyes and use that to find what makes YOU lovely 🙂

  6. I love that I’m at the stage where I embrace everything, even my flaws. I’m happy to have high school and college behind me so I’m not constantly second guessing everything about myself.
Lesley recently posted…So about February…My Profile

    • Oh the flaws, yep we must embrace them. I would like to think that if I were back in high school now, I would like to think that I would be more sure of myself and much stronger. I make sure to talk with our daughter every day about her and how wonderful she is.
I want her to be confident and know just how lovely she is.
      Thanks for sharing Lesley 🙂

  7. I’ve always loved my hazel eyes. At one point they would change colors with my mood or maybe even the season (I never figured that one out).

  8. I always have a really hard time seeing the positive things in myself. I guess #whatslovely about me is that I try hard to be kind and compassionate.

    • Oh Beth, you must not be so hard on yourself. By the way being kind and compassionate is amazing and awesome, we need more of that.
Check out my post about #1000speak for compassion and join us. February 20th, we are gathering over 1000 blogger to write about compassion.

  9. What an awesome campaign, thank you for sharing! What I love about myself? I feel like I’ve lost a lot of myself since becoming a mom while trying to fit in all the things I need to do, it gets tough. I guess what I love about myself is that I am fiercely loyal to those I love and always try to make the most of a situation.

    • Sara, I hear you about being fiercely loyal…Been there, done that and have even had me bite me in the bootie. Making the most of each situation is a great quality, it keeps us motivated and back up on our feet when need be.
Thanks for sharing my friend 🙂

    4) I’m madly in love with my husband.
    5) I’m kind.
    6) I’m not judgmental.
    7) I love that I can see the value in other women.
    8) I learn things easily.
    9) I’m a survivor.
    10) I’m a great mom.
