Healdsburg Wine Country Half Marathon and Halloween Fun

Destination Races has done it again, another amazing race weekend is approaching and right here in wine country.  The Healdsburg Wine Country Half Marathon is this Halloween and what an awesome way to spend that morning.  Ditch the candy and let’s have some wine!

Healdsburg Half Marathon

You are not ready to run a half marathon?  No problem, register for the 5k and start at the Mazzocco Winery and finish the run at Trentadue Winery.  Have some fun and wear a costume, bring the kids.  What a great way to start their morning off.  You can trick or treat from winery to winery just beyond the finish line.  Enjoy running through a most beautiful wine region.  Fall is in the air and the colors are amazing right now.  The town of Healdsburg is a favorite of ours.  Small, quaint and full of wonderful shopping, wine tasting and amazing restaurants.

Head on out for an entire weekend or make a long vacation out of it.  Travel is made easy as you can fly right into the Santa Rosa airport {a short distance from Healdsburg} via Alaska Airlines.  Runner’s can receive 10% off the entire race weekend when booking with Alaska Airlines.

As expected, Destination Races has an entire weekend planned out for visiting runners to the area.  Each event is done with pretty much perfection.

There is early packet pickup on Thursday the 29th at the Sports Basement Presido
A Welcome Wine Reception that evening at Truett Hurst Winery
The Race Expo is open on Friday morning at the Vintners Inn
Pre-Race dinner is held at the Kendall Jackson Wine Estate & Gardens
Race day has a wine and music festival at Trentadue Winery
All wrapped up with a Finisher’s celebration at Trione Winery

These Race Extras are available only to registered runners and guests.  Plan you trip or weekend ahead of time and compliment your weekend here in wine country by reserving your space during registration, OR if have already registered, you may purchase any of these separately.  Like all Destination Race productions, these do typically sell out quickly.

  2. This sounds like a fabulous race and weekend! I love flying into Santa Rosa airport. I love that they let you check, for free, a case of wine when you’re done with your wine weekend. We really enjoyed Kendall Jackson when were there last month – beautiful place – good wine 🙂

  5. My favorite destination race was my first marathon which was in MAUI – amazing! On another note, I LOVE Halloween races. When my husband and I first met, one of the first dates we had was a Halloween themed 5K/10K. He totally went with my theme of 80’s aerobics instructor and showed up in spandex tights and an afro wig. I knew then that I was gonna love him 😉

  6. I would love love to run a race in Maui. I did some running on the beach there two summer’s ago and was in heaven. What a great date. This will be my first Halloween run and since my Nike this past weekend was not a PR, I plan on taking the Healdsburg a bit more seriously.
