Running has been a daily steady routine for me the past few months. After my last half marathon this past summer, I knew I had to get prepared for my next one, the Nike Women’s Half Marathon here in San Francisco. This is a race that has been on my run “wish list” for a few years now and I had hoped to be one of the lucky “golden ticket” winners to get chosen via the lottery. As luck would have it, I had been invited to run this amazing race via Nike and Six:02. The Nike Women’s Half has been popular for years and it has an enormous amount of runners from all over traveling to San Francisco to attend. With an expectation of over 30,000 runner’s this year, I have no doubt this will be an experience of a lifetime.
Nike is changing things up a bit this year. The expo will not be located in one spot. Nike has created a fun “traveling” type of expo. This year there is a fun scavenger type of hunt going on all week incorporating and highlighting places in the city. Each location has some type of instruction or activity for the runner to do participate in and once completed, they will receive a limited edition earring to collect. There are seven locations and seven earrings. This is kind of a fun way to get the weekend moving and going, keep runner’s active in a fun way while having everyone get to know one another {hopefully}. Maybe you are traveling alone or in a group, the Nike weekend is packed full of busy activities. Some groups are making huge reservation spots to have runners get together for dinner, lunch. There is sightseeing, shopping, photo opportunities, workouts or if you are like me, maybe you want to head to your hotel room and take a nap. Of course, as always Nike will have a necklace at the finish line, however it is waiting to be revealed at race weekend.

I’ve been to San Fran before – it was awesome; loved biking over the golden gate bridge – but have never done this race. It’s definitely on my bucket list. This is the one where they give out a Tiffany necklace at the end, right? 🙂
