Napa Valley Turkey Trot

The Napa Valley Turkey Trot is just two days away and our daughter and I are looking forward to running this fun family 5k.  Come check out all the happenings this race has and don’t forget to bring your canned food items.

Napa Valley Turkey Trot

This is fun event and will be the third year both our daughter and I have run it.  Families are out with strollers, kids, dogs and runners.  Faith always beats me to the finish line, and I love it.  Check out the details below and if you are local to the area, head on out.

Napa, CA – On Saturday, November 21, 2015, In Shape Health Clubs, Napa Valley College, the NVC Student Veteran’s Organization and Napa Running Company have joined forces to host the 3rd Annual Napa Valley Turkey Trot to help needy families this Thanksgiving Season.

The day will also celebrate the life of beloved community member Patty Renfrow, who passed away suddenly in February. Renfrow spent many years at Napa Valley College as a CalWORKs/EOPS Advisor, helping students that were first-generation college attendees or low income and in need extra assistance to succeed. She also started the Napa Valley Adult Education program New Beginnings, which helps teen parents.

In honor of Renfrow, community organizers have made the family fun mile free. Families are invited to enjoy the festivities held at Napa Valley College, where there will also be a Kid’s Zone, entertainment, and a canned food/turkey drive with the Salvation Army. Distance runners will enjoy 50’s classic tunes, finisher medals, custom t-shirts and race treats.

An early packet pick-up day is scheduled for Friday, Saturday November 20, 2015 at the Napa Running Company 4pm – 630pm.

  1. This sounds like a great race! My fav turkey trot in our area is the Feaster Five, a five mile race where you get an apple pie at the end.

  2. Sounds like fun. I wish there were more turkey trots where I’m from. They’re hard to find.

    • They are Charlotte? I figured Turkey Trots were the “thing” pretty much everywhere. I love running these with our daughter, so glad she does them.
