If we were having coffee, I would share with you  that our oldest son is leaving in two weeks for the Army Ranger Program.  This is a decision that has been thought on for the past year and it is something he is passionate about doing.  I have been filled with many emotions, some days are better than others, some days are just awful.  We are so very proud of him.  He will make an amazing Ranger for our country.  My faith in God will keep me strong.  I will most likely be sharing more thoughts on this subject down the road.  Please place my son in your thoughts and prayers as he embarks on this journey.

If we were having coffee, I would share with you  some cool discount codes for upcoming races in the area.  Whether you live near by or you would like to travel out here for some running, then check out this post.  You can find codes for The San Francisco Marathon, The Run The Bay Challenge Series and more.

If we were having coffee, I would share with you  that I am loving Instagram lately and am really using it more often.  I find myself spending more time there than anywhere else.  I actually enjoy it more than Pinterest.  I am still trying to grow my followers, if you head over and end up staying, leave a comment on a photo so I know and I would love to follow back.

If we were having coffee, I would share with you  my love for Pura Vida bracelets.  You can read all about them here on my post.  I am so excited to be an ambassador rep for them and I love wearing my own Pura Vida bracelets everywhere.  Make sure you use the code FMWC20 and receive your discount on any Pura Vida purchase you make.

Thank you for joining us, have a fabulous weekend.

  1. I don’t know purr vida but any bracelet works for me ! I love them. Exciting but scary for your son. We are looking at colleges for my eldest daughter and it stirs up such emotion. Excitement but apprehension at the same time. Now I know how my parents felt when I told them I wanted to live in France !
    Thanks for the link up.

  3. I love this cute idea! I don’t have a cute coffee shop near me sadly, nor do I drink coffee at home. Great post!

  4. Oh, I understand the bittersweet pride and pain over your son’s decision – prayers for all of you. I spend more time on Instagram then Pinterest, but still not much.

  5. I love IG right now too it’s a fun way to connect for sure. I read your post about your son last week, very touching. I am sure it’s really hard for you to let him go but it seems like he feels it is his calling. Thoughts and prayers for you all. Always nice to see you over coffee

  6. I love IG too! I just checked out your feed, love that smoothie post. I’m @cuteheadskids if you want to say hi! xo

  7. Wishing your son all the best!

I have started using IG more lately and have really been enjoying it too. It’s a great way to connect and I’m finding I just don’t have as much time to blog as I use to. Thanks for hosting coffee!

  8. I have a bunch of PuraVida bracelets and love them!! Love our monthly coffee dates too! I can’t believe it’s February!! Once we get to March I’ll be thinking all things SPRING!!!

  9. Good luck to your son! What a wonderful thing to do (but nerve wracking for you, I’m sure). You don’t look old enough to have a son that old!

For years I just didn’t get Pinterest, then I fell and I fell hard. I kind of fell off Instagram recently, but I’m back on now!

    • Oh Judy, so kind of you. The kids are 24, 15, and Faith is turning 14 in a few weeks. I am old {but try to stay as young as I can} LOL I can not get the hang of Pinterest at all. Thank you for stopping by.

  10. Thank you to you and your son for wanting to protect our country. It’s an extremely commendable and courageous decision on both of your parts!!! You need this coffee;)

  11. Definitely will keep your son in prayer – thank him for serving our country! I love that photo of you and I’m also loving Instagram a lot lately. So fun!

  12. Good luck to your son. My ex-husband is a career Army National Guardsmen. He served three tours overseas. I know how stressful that can be and I can only imagine it is magnified for a child. I also love Instagram. I think I am such a visual person and have loved photography since I was young – it is a great creative outlet and a source of inspiration for fitness.

    • Oh heading to the military of any type for anyone is difficult no doubt. I am surely realizing that very more so now. As a mom, I am a wreck for sure. I am trying. I think Instagram has some amazing photography pictures on there. I can’t get enough and I am learning more about photography every day. Thank you for stopping here today 🙂

  13. It’s a wonderful thing your son is doing. I know you must be both proud and scared. He and your family will be in my prayers. I’ve never been able to get much out of Pinterest. Perhaps I’m not using it correctly? I do like IG some days…ha. Some people post every 5 minutes and I guess it’s just not my style to post that often. But it’s up to me to manage who I follow — so I shouldn’t complain. Thanks for the link, Lynda!

    • Keeping him in your prayers would be wonderful. I am all about good thoughts and prayer all around. I can not get Pinterest at all, so same here, I just don’t understand it right. I do love pinning, but I don’t understand the concept to correctly market and grow. I had heard that Instagram should be used about three times a day. I usually do that or twice a day, then I am done. I love all the awesome pictures. Thanks for coffee today my friend 🙂

  14. Much strength to you in regards to your son. It is an amazing thing that he is doing, but scary as a parent. We appreciate his dedication.

Looking forward to doing my own coffee post and reading others, thanks!

    • Thank you Lauren, strength and faith are going to be needed a lot. Thank you for stopping by and having coffee. Every first Saturday of each month, but as always I love seeing everyone here more often.

  15. I love this link up. I can’t wait to participate next weekend! Big thank you to your son for serving and protecting us and our country. Prayers to you mama. I can only imagine what you feel right now.

  16. You have great pictures on instagram!

Good luck to your son. I hope it is an awesome experience for him.

Good luck to your son (and your family!) in his new experience! I can imagine he must be pretty excited about this new chapter, but you’re in my thoughts, as this must be bittersweet.

  22. Good luck to your son! Wonderful that he is committed to serve, very admirable. I enjoy Instagram but need to get more engaged.

I love IG so much – I’m a picture person anyways & love seeing everyone’s lives through their eyes.

I have a friend whose son is leaving for the military & she’s having a hard time too. Always hard to let those babies leave the nest in such a way that you know visits are few & far between for awhile. Hang in there

  37. That’s very cool about your son. I am sure it was a hard decision, but he’ll definitely make you proud! Let him know, thank you for his choice to serve our country!

I am also loving Instagram, I think it’s my favorite social media tool. Pictures say so much more than words!

Big hugs during the process of your son departing for the military. You must be so proud, yet be feeling so many conflicting emotions at the same time. I have several friends with military husbands, and through their perspectives I can relate to how hard it can be. Hang in there, my friend!!!
