Bothe Park, Here We Come …

Okay so I have been waiting to find the time to sit and write this post.  Normally I try to get my point or story across as simple and short as possible (trust me, my hubby would love that) but in this case not so much.  This is the first post of my new Category “Field Trip Fridays”.  I have wanted to start this for some time, but as with all of us, life gets in the way and things come up and we get busy keeping on other tasks.  Settle in and grab a cup of tea or coffee OR whatever you chose and enjoy as I take you on the journey with the fam in parts of the beautiful wine country that we live in. Today’s venture….Bothe Park located in Napa Valley. The drive to Bothe Park was through Napa Valley {heading North}.  Highway 29 along that route is…  Read More…

List Of Favorite Childrens’ Books

In Every Tiny Grain of Sand I love this book because it has really good poems and great illustrations.  I like the words used in this book and I like that it has blessing and prayers.   Velma Gratch & The Way Cool Butterfly  This book has GREAT illustrations.  It is easy for kids to read.  It tells you some facts about butterflies.  It makes me giggle when I read it. Olive The Other Reindeer   My mom and dad purchased this book for my older brother when it was published. The authors   J. Otto Seibold and Vivian Walsh came to Sonoma to the local bookstore and had a reading and book signing.  So this book is super special because it was signed by the Authors.  I love the illustrations.  The thick pages.  The cute reindeer’s.  It always makes me wish it was Christmas when I read this book. I Heard It From…  Read More…

The Winter’s Cold Icicles – By Faith Thomas

Winter, surround me with the cold breeze of the overcast, drought of icicles. Drop me on a cold snow sleet like you did before, oh please. I want to see you, winter, the shower of all snowflakes. I want you to bring me to the snow castle of a far-away land. Will you go there for me? Open me to the cold, harsh secrets that you have been keeping from me. Turn me to the opening of the cloudy blizzard door, oh please. Fill me with darkness, below and above. Oh, oh please, winter, surround me with the cold breeze of the overcast drought of icicles for me. Give me the ice storm, flush out the cloudy world. Drop me to the ground like you forgot me. Drown me with a snowflake blizzard. Give me the power of winter please. Copyright 2012 By Faith Thomas Photo Pixaby        …  Read More…
