Restoration Hardware How Could You?

*Disclaimer* Before even reading this post, please remember that these are my words and my opinion.  I am NOT open to spam or nasty commenting.  I do however believe that everyone has their own views and can share them in an adult and polite manner.  With that said, read on … I was not expecting this post today, but thanks to the latest package that was delivered to my front door, I had no option but to voice my disappointment and disapproval {okay and a hint of disgust}. I knew he was coming, I recognized the low rumble of that big brown truck coming down our quiet street.  Stryker {our family watch dog} was doing his usual,  going banana crazy jumping and barking by the front window and pacing the door.  It was here, the UPS truck.  Where was he going to stop?  Who is getting a package today?  We…  Read More…

That’s It We Are Having Office Hours

Why is it that as we near the end of a school year, things seem to get a bit more hectic? I am filling out more forms, signing more permission slips, sending in more money for something, seeing more projects that need to be completed, scheduling more appointments. That is just school, let’s not leave out sports activities. Baseball teams {yes plural} double the uniforms {keeping them organized with the right socks, belts and pants} double the practice, double the scheduling. Packing snacks, lunches, remembering to double pack for back to back activities, remembering what time to be where and where to be when. Birthday parties, graduation parties, planning, scheduling, making sure to coordinate dates to not overlap with someone else, buying gifts.  Gifts for the graduates, gifts for our graduate, gifts for the special teacher.  Graduation?  Oh yeah, that would be us.  The outfit, must stick to the dress…  Read More…

It’s A Liebster Award

I was recently nominated for a Liebster Award by fellow blogger Leslie over at It’s A Runderful Life and I was pleasantly surprised.  Here is how the award works … Liebster is a German word that literally translates to “dearest”, “favorite”, and “beloved”.  By giving this award, one blogger says to another, “This is a favorite and beloved blog.” 1.) You must link back to the person who nominated you 2.) You must answer the 10 Liebster questions given to you by the nominee before you. 3.) You must pick 10 bloggers to be nominated for the award (with a small following) 4.) You must create 10 questions for your nominees 5.) You must go to their blogs and notify the nominees This award is for blogs that are growing and encourages us to keep writing.  Here are the questions that were sent to me and my answers …  1. What’s…  Read More…

The Ulitmate Coffee Date #2

Happy Saturday and happy May.  I am so super jazzed to be here again having coffee with you {or tea or whatever your liking this beautiful morning}.  This is the second Ultimate Coffee Date hosted by myself, Nikki and Jill.  I can’t wait to share with you and I am looking so forward to you linking up and sharing with us.  ♥ First of all, let’s greet one another with hellos and hugs as we are settling in for some chat time. While we were having coffee this morning, I would tell you that our middle son starts his Babe Ruth baseball season today and plays on two teams, so we have back to back games and another on Sunday.  Baseball season this year is going to be very busy. While we were having coffee this morning, I would tell you I did a fun blog post that was inspired…  Read More…

Find Them Everywhere

This past February I was in  our local book store having some quiet time and enjoying looking for a new book {I also love to stop and smell the insides of them}.  I came across the cutest book from Drew Barrymore called “Find It In Everything“.  The book caught my eye and I picked it up and started looking through it.  I instantly fell in love with it.  This book was more of a project than just a story with pages of words.  It was a project of love, it was art.  It inspired me ♥ Basically, it is a book full of fabulous photos of HEARTS.  Anywhere and everywhere, just hearts.  If we really stop and look around us, we can find them in almost everything.  I found myself smiling as I kept turning the pages.  I thought to myself, what a wonderful project.  I love this idea.  I…  Read More…

Wine Country Thanksgiving

Oh my goodness what a long week it has been.  The kids were out of school since last Monday and our oldest headed home for a long {x-tra long} weekend.  Doesn’t it seem that we need a day or two for us to rest after a holiday weekend?  As usual, this was my holiday to cook for family.  I do Thanksgiving every year and it is always a different menu.  This year I must give kudos to Holiday Entertaining magazine from Bon Appetit and Gourmet for the amazing recipes I used. It was business as usual for my preparation.  About two weeks before Thanksgiving, I research magazine after magazine and pull from each and every one.  I look for something new and unique or something that I can add my own twist to {depending on how creative I want to get, OR how tired I am}.  No fancy twists this…  Read More…
