Baked French Fries

Okay so I am home from my first day back at bootcamp in quite sometime and I am  feeling super great.  This means I have alot of energy and even have time for a “project”.  I head to Pinterest and oh boy did I find something cool!  I wish I could take credit for this recipe and the idea, however I tagged it from a recipe courtesy of My Father’s Daughter: Delicious, Easy Recipes Celebrating Family & Togetherness by Gwyneth Paltrow They are “No-Fry Fries“….yep, that is correct.  The picture alone looked soooo yummy I had to pull the recipe up.  Three ingredients, that was it.  Super simple and super healthy, no added anything, better yet – NO FRYING!  What?  I have all of these in the house, how can I NOT make these? 2large russet potatoes (2/3 lb each), peeled 2tablespoonsolive oil 3/4teaspooncoarse sea salt *NOTE* I did add…  Read More…

Polenta Recipe with Fresh Veggies

Polenta, I have always loved this food.  Whether just warm from the pot or sauce pan, or topped with a mushroom sauce, or red sauce, OR just chilled.  It is a great go to quick food.  Once you get the hang of cooking it, then it becomes easy and makes for great left-overs.  Check out the Health Benefits of Polenta at http://www.naturalhealth365.com/tag/polenta-health-benefits Due to its main ingredient of cornmeal, polenta can really act as a gluten-free substitute for almost any wheat-based side dish in a meal. With all the allergies that people now seem to suffer when it comes to eating, this can serve as a quick and easy answer for those households looking for more options. If you are looking to use Polenta as a gluten-free alternative, make sure, when buying it premade or prepackaged, that you check the list of ingredients. On occasion you may find wheat…  Read More…

Gotta Love Green…..Tea *Giveaway*

Okay so last week I had posted on Fitnessmomwinecountry a Green Tea Giveaway.  It has taken a while but I have come up with 3 winners!  Yep, three because, well….I really like this one.  Since trying to kick the coffee habit, my go to (besides water of course) is my daily cup of Green Tea.  Whether it is just a cup of tea with lemon or honey OR my fav Matcha Green Tea Latte, it doesn’t matter.  I just love it and I feel great drinking it.  I don’t have a latte machine maker here at home, however with Tazo Matcha Tea Latte Concentrate, I don’t need one. Just a sauce pan and a stove and whisk….. Matcha Green Tea Latte… Almond Milk (0 Sugar) Concentrate Green Tea Cinnamon SO for those who have gotten to know me, I never measure anything…SO I have just gotten this down to a…  Read More…

You want me to “Get Dirty”?….”What”???

Okay so we are heading into the third week of January 2013 and I am already behind on one of my goals and that was to blog more often. As I have plenty to write about since the start of this so far amazing year, I have decided to launch my first post of January with my invitation to the Dirty Girl Mud Run. A few weeks ago I received an email asking if I would like to be a “Blogger Ambassador” for the San Francisco Dirty Girl Event.   Well this was an exciting moment for me, how on earth could I refuse?  Let me see, the last time I “played in the mud” was……hmmmm before puberty?  I not only did I think what a great experience, but what a cool way to spend the day with other gals just having fun for a few hours and not needing to…  Read More…

Build a Snowman Challenge

Okay so we are days away from Christmas and I am feeling giddy like a kid.  I had a great day at boot camp, spent some time shopping with the kids, the hubby is home for a few days and we enjoyed a family breakfast.  Now I am getting ready for “date night” with my handsome man and the weather had me thinking about how I missed living in the snow.  Sooooo, an idea came to mind (must be all the Christmas music in the house and me feeling nostalgic) for igloos and snowmen.  Here is the deal, I have some “swag” goodies sitting around and would LOVE to send them off to someone.  So I decided to have a Build a Snowman Challenge! Here’s is what you need to do….. Get as creative as you can and create or build a snowman..make it a family project. Email me your…  Read More…

January Fitness Challenge Groups

Are you ready? Sure we all want to do the “New Year’s Resolution”.  Gym memberships go through the roof this time of year, workout videos are selling like hot cakes, we run out and buy new, shiny equipment, gadgets, clothing.  Why not? January is almost here and it’s GAME ON! This is all fantastic, in fact I am just like all of you….however I am wise enough to know that I need to be held accountable and need that extra motivation along with positive support and input.  SO it is time for another Fitnessmomwinecountry challenge group!  Celebrating a year of success with these personal one-on-one groups with MANY returning members. “Although I will be honest, I like weights in the gym much better.  These interval or circuits get me tired faster.  Although again, I am thinking that this is good for me too.  I just want to say thank…  Read More…

Remembrance Day for Precious Lives Lost

We are through the weekend and yet still at a cross-roads with emotions.  I did make it to the 5:30 boot camp class this morning, however my concentration was off, my mind was spinning and my heart ill-feeling.  It was Friday when I was at my last class, laughing and having a great time while doing something so simple as working out.  Then to have gotten home, turned on the computer and like everyone in the Nation, I was hit hard…right in the gut.  Pure shock and horror ran through my body, followed by sobs and the desire want to close my eyes and open them again to see that I was having a bad dream.  Only we all know it was not….it was and still is a nightmare. We as a nation are ALL affected by this and need to spread love and prayers to everyone.  I struggle with feeling guilty that I am blessed with the…  Read More…

The Liebster Award Is In The House

So I have noticed lately this symbol on many blog posts recently and was not sure what was going on.  Until now, since I received a message from Giselle over at  My Healthy Happy Home and from Lindsay over at Sweets N Sweat.  Looks like those two gals have nominated me for this super cool and most humbling award.  It’s an award given to up and coming bloggers who inspire you.  The word Liebster is a German word meaning Beloved, Dearest, or Favorite.  Thank you to both Giselle and Lindsday! I am actually (almost) speechless.   The last time I was “awarded” anything was at the dentist office when they gave me a stainless steel water bottle with my free toothbrush and floss package. I am so honored, because this means that someone is actually reading my site and liking it….:)   Okay to here is how this works…. Write 11 random facts about yourself….  Read More…
