Zarbee’s Naturals

*Disclosure – I received product and compensation from said company for my review.  All enthusiasm is my own and real. ♥ Summer is wrapping up and the school year is starting.  This means our schedule is in full swing and with the Fall season approaching, we have a lot going on.  Practices for the kids, attending their sporting events, carpooling, packing lunches, staying on top of the shopping, keeping up with the laundry … pretty much running the house while staying organized and on track.  As a stay home mom, I do have the options to keep going at a high pace or just relax a bit and take the day slowly.  I can make time for my running, a Pure Barre class or a nap.  I believe that a healthy lifestyle is key to success.  Staying fit, being active, eating right and always finding time for exercise is crucial to…  Read More…

The Napa to Sonoma Half Marathon is A Must Run

About two weeks ago, I had the amazing opportunity to run the Napa to Sonoma Wine CountryHalf Marathon and I could not have been more excited.  This race has been on my wish list for a few years and being invited as a blogger/runner was a huge thrill and honor for me.  Before I get into my own personal recap and experience, let me start by saying that Destination Races put together a MOST amazing weekend race event and holds nothing back.  I was very impressed with every detail {although I was not able to attend the pre-race dinner or the morning yoga because of other obligations} I enjoyed the perks of the VIP package. Let’s just start with Friday night.  A very intimate Welcome Reception was held at Cuvasion Winery which is the start place of the race.  The evening had wine, food samples and speeches from the race…  Read More…

Pet Adoption and The Volunteer Job

How is summer going everyone?  We are into the second week of July and with the 4th behind us and the Tahoe trip  {post to come} in the past, I am finding that the days are filled with swimming at the country club pool or grandma’s house.  If that is not enough to keep the kids busy, then I am at a loss.  I am actually looking forward to some quiet time and just doing nothing for a few days, but when it is too quiet the kids get restless.  Noah has football workouts and camp three days each week until season starts, so that helps.  Miss Faith is busy shopping on-line for anything because, well she is a girl {a 13 year old girl}, she gets bored and she apparently thinks that we have a money tree planted in the back yard. This is when I get creative.  Faith…  Read More…

If we were having coffee, I would tell you  that I just completed my second Zooma Half Marathon two weeks ago in Napa.  I enjoy that race route so much and had a pretty great run until having to stop TWICE for porta potty breaks.  My worst nightmare while running for sure. If we were having coffee, I would tell you  that we are back from a…  Read More…

Napa to Sonoma Half Marathon

Running season is upon us and I  love it.  I have a bucket list of races {half marathons} I am wanting to get done this year one of them was  is the Napa to Sonoma Half Marathon.  For the most obvious reason, the race ends right here in Sonoma on the plaza literally just blocks away from our house.  This is one of those races that opens for registration and instantly sells out, so getting myself a spot has been pretty much impossible and I just assumed it might never happen for me.  Someone in the race heavens must have been listening to me, I was contacted by Destination Races and invited to run this particular half marathon.  I had to pinch myself and read the email again {insert happy dance}. I don’t have much time to get ready since race day is July 19th.  However, I am just two…  Read More…

Wine Country Lasagna

My kids could eat pasta every night of the week {wait … taco night is pretty high up there}.  Not only is pasta super easy and fast, it is affordable and I love having enough of it in the house to make something different as often as possible.  With all the activities the kids do, feeding them all these carbs is totally okay, they are burning them off like crazy.  Since it is like pulling teeth to get my kids to eat cooked or steamed veggies, I have to get really creative when it comes to dinners.  Pasta is one of the best ways to sneak in as many veggies as possible.  I love it ♥ Wine Country Lasagna Ingredients 1 cup fresh spinach leaves 1 cup cut fresh carrots 1 cup fresh mushrooms fresh garlic cloves {as many as you prefer} 1 tsp garlic powder 1 lb ground turkey…  Read More…
