Pure Barre and The Shake

Another week has passed and another Pure Barre  update on my “journey”.  If you have seen or read anything about Pure Barre, you know that the “Shake” is a very common {and important}  word used amongst Barre goers.  No, I am not talking about stepping up to the front desk and ordering some sort of smoothie/shake.  I am talking about the uncontrollable, vibrating motion of our legs as we are at standing at the Barre.  No need to panic or be embarrassed of the Shake, in fact you are supposed to be shaking.  I look around the room all the time and see women doing the same thing {yes you can see each other shake, because it is such an intense tremble}.  Thighs, calves and even the booty depending on the position we are in. My Month At The Barre

Okay so if you had seen my post a few weeks back I had written that our small town of Sonoma, CA officially welcomed its first Pure Barre Studio.  I was super jazzed about this because I had read about the program and have actually connected with women from Southern California who swear by it.  I have completed my first month trying Pure Barre out and I don’t even know where to start as I write, as I am pretty excited. As an avid fitness enthusiast for most of my life, I have always tried to be in the “now” and keep myself fit as possible.  Running, skiing, hiking, pilates, lifting, joining gyms, spinning, boot camp and even attempts at yoga, I figured I had tried most of it and could handle anything.  Pure Barre is an entire different form of workout that my body was not expecting to encounter. …  Read More…
