Nike Women’s Half Marathon 2015

Running has been a daily steady routine for me the past few months.  After my last half marathon this past summer, I knew I had to get prepared for my next one, the Nike Women’s Half Marathon here in San Francisco.  This is a race that has been on my run “wish list” for a few years now and I had hoped to be one of the lucky “golden ticket” winners to get chosen via the lottery.  As luck would have it, I had been invited to run this amazing race via Nike and Six:02.  The Nike Women’s Half has been popular for years and it has an enormous amount of runners from all over traveling to San Francisco to attend.  With an expectation of over 30,000 runner’s this year,  I have no doubt this will be an experience of a lifetime. Nike is changing things up a bit this…  Read More…

Healdsburg Wine Country Half Marathon and Halloween Fun

Destination Races has done it again, another amazing race weekend is approaching and right here in wine country.  The Healdsburg Wine Country Half Marathon is this Halloween and what an awesome way to spend that morning.  Ditch the candy and let’s have some wine! You are not ready to run a half marathon?  No problem, register for the 5k and start at the Mazzocco Winery and finish the run at Trentadue Winery.  Have some fun and wear a costume, bring the kids.  What a great way to start their morning off.  You can trick or treat from winery to winery just beyond the finish line.  Enjoy running through a most beautiful wine region.  Fall is in the air and the colors are amazing right now.  The town of Healdsburg is a favorite of ours.  Small, quaint and full of wonderful shopping, wine tasting and amazing restaurants. Head on out for…  Read More…

The Napa to Sonoma Half Marathon is A Must Run

About two weeks ago, I had the amazing opportunity to run the Napa to Sonoma Wine CountryHalf Marathon and I could not have been more excited.  This race has been on my wish list for a few years and being invited as a blogger/runner was a huge thrill and honor for me.  Before I get into my own personal recap and experience, let me start by saying that Destination Races put together a MOST amazing weekend race event and holds nothing back.  I was very impressed with every detail {although I was not able to attend the pre-race dinner or the morning yoga because of other obligations} I enjoyed the perks of the VIP package. Let’s just start with Friday night.  A very intimate Welcome Reception was held at Cuvasion Winery which is the start place of the race.  The evening had wine, food samples and speeches from the race…  Read More…

When A Training Run Turns Into A Walk

*Note* The winner of the Ultimate Runner’s Giveaway has been chosen and is announced at the end of this post. We have all been there, we have all had them.  You know what they are, the days that we head out to train for an up-coming run and end up just not getting it done.  Instead of just throwing in the towel when a bad “running” day hits, we can just walk it out or like Taylor Swift sings “shake it off“.  This is exactly what I did while out on my latest run.  I had every intention of topping my 5 miles and going further.  I had just come off the weekend of back to back GREAT runs and some Pure Barre classes, however Tuesday morning had me finding out that my legs were just not into it {my calves to be exact}.  I found myself turning off my…  Read More…

The Zooma Napa Valley Half Marathon Is Back 2015

I have some exciting news to share this morning!  The Zooma Women’s Race Series  is back in Napa Valley  and I could not be more excited.  Last year was the inaugural year for this race and it was such a huge success, they are doing this again.  I had the opportunity to be a race ambassador  last year and had an amazing time.  I was working with other great women {fellow ambassadors}, I was training hard, meeting new people and just enjoying and embracing being a runner.  I had low expectations for myself as it was my first half marathon, but to my surprise {and my hubby’s}, I actually did pretty well. The race date this year is June 20th, 2015  and you have the options running a 10k or half marathon.  This makes for an amazing get away weekend with girlfriends.  Napa Valley has so much to offer,…  Read More…

Napa Valley Zooma and My First Half Marathon

It is official …. I am a Half Marathoner!  I can actually call myself a “runner“.  Well okay, I have been a runner, only I guess my head never let me believe it until I completed something as big as a half or full marathon.  This past weekend I ran the Zooma Womens’ Race Series Half Marathon here in Napa Valley, CA.  This was the inaugural race for Napa and is actually right in my own back yard {I live in Sonoma}. I could not have been more excited when Zooma had notified me that I was one of the women who would be an ambassador for their race series.  The experience has been awesome, they take care of their runners and have a great time doing it.  The support is amazing, the other ambassadors are wonderful and the brands they work with are just superb. The race morning had…  Read More…

Running Thoughts and Wedgies

Another “Runner’s Thoughts”  blog post.  Why? Well because when I did this a few weeks ago, it seemed to have been a hit and was fun.  I just laid it all out there and shared what went through my head while running.  If you have been so kind enough to follow and read my ramblings, I must thank you ♥.  If you have been following along with me via facebook, twitter and here, then you know that I have been getting myself {mind and body} ready for my very first half marathon. I know, I know.  I have gotten advice and wisdom from MANY of you wonderful runners out there and it seems that the most popular of advice is to “just have fun” and “don’t worry about your time”.  Well, if you knew me personally, then you would know that I am goal setter and goal getter.  I raise…  Read More…
