Mom To The Rescue

It was Tuesday night when Faith came into our room and said “Mom, I need the computer after school tomorrow”, “are you going to be working on it”?  That sentence right there, that was it.  I placed my magazine down and my hot tea, removed my glasses and knew we had a “project” coming.  As a parent we have the special “mommy senses”, the one’s that tell our guts that something is up or we know when the kids are holding back on something.  In fact, we should have special capes we put on for each time we are to jump into action.  This would require the “Project Cape” {gulp} and I was to get ready. I continued to listen to our princess as she began to explain the assignment.  I asked questions, she rolled her eyes.  I asked more questions, she did the “chill  mom”, “it’s all good” lecture. …  Read More…

My Mason Jar Project

My hubby and I were re-doing the master bedroom last week and I was needing something to add to the night stands.  Budget friendly, and easy was my plan.  Thanks to the mason jars we have in the house and my hubby’s trip to Whole Foods to pick up some Gerber Daisies {one of my top fave flowers}, we came up with this. Super Easy Directions… Mason Jars Gerber Daisies Filler Rocks {anything will do} Water Fill the mason jars with your filler of choice, add the twist lid back to the jar, cut flowers to preferred length, add flowers and water.  Done! Seriously, how cute and easy?   If you are like me, than this crafty project is a HUGE accomplishment since I have zero creative talent in me.  We placed the mason jars on top of some books next to the night stand and they look perfect.  Just enough…  Read More…

A Kickstarter That I Am Helping To Support

I am not sure how many of you out there have heard of Kickstarter, but it is a super cool way to get funding for creative projects.  I have supported a few kickstarters in the past and I personally think that anyone with creativity is pure genius. Check out the latest project that has been brought to my attention. I was approached by my fellow SPA sisters {Sweat Pink/Fit Approach} founders Jamie and Alyse with the Namatse project. NAMATSE….The first yoga mat hanging solution designed for yogis to make cleaning, drying, storing, and even displaying your mats a breeze! It is the first ever clip designed by San Francisco yogis for yogis that helps you keep your mat fresh, flat and clean. Click this link to their kickstarter campaign and help support this program. Don’t we all want an easier way to care for our yoga mats? I know that…  Read More…

Couples that “project” together, Stay together…

SO Spring is finally here and I could not be happier {okay except for the so dreaded seasonal allergies} but the weather has been amazing and this means the “honey to do list” has started {woop woop}! I am not sure if my hubby braces himself every year for this OR if he has just gotten so used to me taking things apart, cleaning things out, creating project messes in hopes of turning them into something totally cool, but whatever the case, he knows that when I wake on any given morning and say something like “we are having project day” OR I call him at the office and give him notice that on his next day off I have “plans” that involve heading to the yard/garden and hardware store OR a “hike”, that I am up to something and don’t plan on relaxing. This day was one of my faves, because I…  Read More…
