Nike Women’s Half Marathon 2015

Running has been a daily steady routine for me the past few months.  After my last half marathon this past summer, I knew I had to get prepared for my next one, the Nike Women’s Half Marathon here in San Francisco.  This is a race that has been on my run “wish list” for a few years now and I had hoped to be one of the lucky “golden ticket” winners to get chosen via the lottery.  As luck would have it, I had been invited to run this amazing race via Nike and Six:02.  The Nike Women’s Half has been popular for years and it has an enormous amount of runners from all over traveling to San Francisco to attend.  With an expectation of over 30,000 runner’s this year,  I have no doubt this will be an experience of a lifetime. Nike is changing things up a bit this…  Read More…

The Ultimate Coffee Date September

Good morning and happy Labor Day Weekend.  Welcome to another Ultimate Coffee Date and thank you so much for joining us.  Make sure to visit my co-hosts Deborah and Coco and be sure to link up your coffee related post. September is here yay, I am so ready for the Fall season.  As much as I love the summer, warm weather and swimming with the kids, I am so ready for some cool down.  We have been extremely hot here in Northern California and the fire season has been so scary.  I am just praying for a good winter and lots of rain.  We need water and I have some Coach rain boots that are dying to get out there and hit the puddles. If we were having coffee, I would share with you what some of my favorite Fall things were … Leaves Light breezy evenings The Fall moon…  Read More…

Rock N Roll Expo San Francisco

I know it’s Wednesday and this post could have been done a few days ago, however like the saying goes … “better late than never”.  I enjoyed spending last Saturday working along side one of our amazing Zooma gal pals {Andrea} at the San Francisco Rock N Roll Expo in San Francisco at the Moscone Center.  Unfortunately, I had not signed up for that particular race {on my to do list}, but I did love working for and chatting up Zooma.  Miss Andrea and I had so much fun meeting some great people, hearing their running stories, finding out where they traveled from and telling them about ALL the amazing Zooma Races. The Napa Valley race is scheduled for June 20th, 2015 and that is pretty much around the corner.  This is my second year being an ambassador for the all women’s race series and I have to say, they…  Read More…

Christmas Memories and Believing

I have my favorite seasons and time of year, however December  is just … well it’s just something extra special.  December  is magical.  No matter how old I get, I can’t help but feel my inner child come out this time of year.  The lights, the decorations, the music, the hustle and bustle of this season, it all takes me back to being a kid.  Christmas always reminds me of my grandparents.  The trips to downtown San Francisco {Union Square} to see the window displays.  They don’t do windows like they used to. They were amazing, beautiful and just mesmerizing. The holiday parties my grandparents hosted were something out of a movie.  The friends, the music, the food, the hors devours, the cocktails, the men and their cigars, the nice suits, the women and their mink coats, nice dresses and beautiful jewels.  The baby grand piano, the drum set, the…  Read More…

Fitmob Is Here So Is The New Way To Workout

In case you have not heard, there is a new fitness concept here and it is fitmob.  Yes, you read it right “fitmob“.  It is here in Northern California {San Francisco} area to be exact and will be taking the fitness world by storm.  You know those gym memberships you pay for, but most likely don’t use, or the expensive small studio boutique classes that cost an arm and a leg and you keep paying for each month and most likely feel that they are “clicky”?  Well fitmob is nothing like those.  This is the new way of fitness and working out.  This is easy, at your own pace, your own comfort and nothing but support and encouragement.  Here is how it works … fitmob is all about getting you healthy through the power of community.  The key to fitness is about motivating people, not necessarily the use of machines…  Read More…

San Francisco and Big Boat Regatta

One of the things that drives me the most nuts, is when kids hang out on their “electronics” for hours at a time.  I  know in our home, we have guidelines for that.  The kids can enjoy some “techy” time on their devices {no violent games allowed} and they are shut off after an allotted time.  I love trying to find activities for us to do as a family on the weekends.  Sure Sunday is set aside for football games and college games are Saturday’s, but as a mom who just loves to get her kids out and moving, I can’t help but gather us together and head out.  This past weekend was no exception.  The weather here in California is still amazing {hoping for a great winter as we need the rain}, and the wine country is pretty hot these days as we are into the “Indian Summer” months….  Read More…

Have You Tried Surf Set?

I am always saying we need to “step out of our comfort zones and just try new things”.  Well I put my words to the test last month when I attended the Fit Approach  Summer Solstice  event at Sweat Republic  in San Francisco. The event was introducing a  Surf Set class.  When I saw that my fellow “sweat pink” gurus were putting this on, I had to attend.  I love my sweat pink sistas  and am always up for meeting them whenever possible. ♥ First thing first, I had to make sure my hubby got home from work early that afternoon so he could get me to the city on time.  It was Nascar weekend here in Sonoma, so the traffic was a bit of a challenge getting out of here and I knew the clock was ticking to get there in time, follow the GPS directions to the event and…  Read More…

Wednesday Wonderfulz #4 Race Edition

Happy Wednesday everyone.  We are back with another #wednesdaywonderfulz link up.  Join my fellow host miss Sarah at How My World Runs and share with us your link.  This time around we are sharing our favorite races and race memories.  It is that time of year where most of us are outdoors and training for all the amazing runs we sign up for.  So let’s share the runs/races we have on our favorites list and one’s that we want to do.  Let’s begin … My most favorite runs/races are the ones that I have done with our daughter.  She is such an amazing runner and it just comes easy to her.  We are looking forward to her joining the track team and most likely cross country, distance is her thing.  Here are just a few of the random runs I have done … The Napa Valley Turkey Trot The San…  Read More…

San Francisco and “The Color Run”… Amazing

This past weekend our daughter and I attended The Color Run in San Francisco and let me start by saying, if you have never done one, you MUST! This was the second time we have done a run with color and it is such a blast.  This time we scheduled ourselves for the afternoon run and it was held at Candlestick Park {which will be gone soon as they are going to destroy it this year}.  We did not have to get up at the crack of dawn to drive in and get settled, that was a plus.  The weather was perfect {we have been having amazing weather here in California lately, although we do need some more rain}, I have to be honest, I was loving the upper 70’s weather and almost no wind.  We packed up plenty of water, bananas, bagels and made sure to sunscreen ourselves.  Oh…  Read More…
