It’s A Pure Barre Giveaway

If you have ever taken time to read me or follow along, you know I am a huge fan of Pure Barre. Since the studio opened here in our small town of Sonoma, I have been attending and loving it.  Pure Barre has been a great addition to my running routine, my body is core strong, my legs feel great and the “tush” … well let’s just say I am 48 and think I look pretty darn great!  Pure Barre can be intimidating.  I can tell you that it takes time to get the feel for it.  The moves must be exact and kept very small.  I always tell anyone who asks, they need to give it more than a week to figure it out. It’s a #PureBarre #giveaway on the blog @fitnessmom1 Click To Tweet That little red ball, the barre and those double tubes are something else.  Add…  Read More…

Winter Hydrating and SOS Mango

*Disclosure* I was given product and compensation for my work with SOS and Fit Approach for my review.  As always, my enthusiasm is my own. Hydration is pretty much a word we need to hear and use all year round.  There is no season for hydrating, it should just be given that we need to be properly hydrating our bodies all year round.  Hydrating is easier for some and more difficult for others.  Some of us can drink glasses of water all day long and some need help getting water in them.  Check out SOS Hydration.  The fast-acting electrolyte replacement and hydration drink that helps combat dehydration caused by active lifestyles and physical performance. @fitnessmom1 @fitapproach @SOSRehydrate win #realhydration #giveaway Click To Tweet Understanding dehydration here SOS Hydration … who uses it?  Olympians Professional Sports Teams Professional Athletes Weekend Warriors Anyone with an active lifestyle … Are you active?  Then…  Read More…

Pure Barre and Running

By now most of us {I assume} has heard of Pure Barre.  The workout using the ballet bar, that cute little red ball, that looks similar to the red bounce ball we played with on the school yard {only smaller} and the stretching bands.  Yep, that’s the one.  Well I am a HUGE fan of Pure Barre and I have been incorporating the workout with my running for over a year now.  Wow, what a difference. Benefits of Pure Barre for running … {my version} Stamina Stronger core Arm strength while using when running Killer calf muscles Ankles {finally} Lean legs Toned Strong hamstrings, glutes and quads Toned inner thighs Great buttocks {that Pure Barre ledge} Running is not a new thing for me, I have actually been running for years.   I was running in my 20’s often and then again in my 30’s.  It wasn’t until the last almost…  Read More…

ShowerPill Review and Giveaway

Have you heard of ShowerPill?  I have had the opportunity to try out this Athletic Body Wipe and I am loving it.    ShowerPill is an antibacterial wipe that is individually wrapped for easy travel. {Disclosure} I have received product and have been compensated for this post as part of my affiliation with Fit Approach.  My opinion of this product is honest and my own. Gym bag Car Diaper Bag Purse Running belt {if you use one} Carry on bag for travel Backpack I do not go the gym to workout, so I don’t have access to a shower right after.  Most of the time, I am off and running around the rest of the day after a Pure Barre class or even a run.  Having ShowerPill handy makes skipping the shower a bit liveable.  The wipes are thick and they dry quickly without any sticky residue.  They are alcohol and…  Read More…

#whatslovely WORKING OUT

It’s day three of #whatslovely is upon us and this brings us to WORKING OUT.  It is suppose to be about stepping out of our comfort zones and trying something different.  I however will be totally honest with you … I am just back to my Pure Barre classes after being sick for about four weeks and I have no desire to try something new or different.  I am just happy to be back at class.  So with that said … I enjoy staying fit with Pure Barre classes. I love to run and enjoy training for half marathons. I am not obsessed with being “skinny” {I can’t stand that word}. I know that being active at my age and years to come will help me keep up with my kids. I know that exercise {along with good eating and lot’s of water} is great for our complexion. I know…  Read More…

Fitmob Is Here So Is The New Way To Workout

In case you have not heard, there is a new fitness concept here and it is fitmob.  Yes, you read it right “fitmob“.  It is here in Northern California {San Francisco} area to be exact and will be taking the fitness world by storm.  You know those gym memberships you pay for, but most likely don’t use, or the expensive small studio boutique classes that cost an arm and a leg and you keep paying for each month and most likely feel that they are “clicky”?  Well fitmob is nothing like those.  This is the new way of fitness and working out.  This is easy, at your own pace, your own comfort and nothing but support and encouragement.  Here is how it works … fitmob is all about getting you healthy through the power of community.  The key to fitness is about motivating people, not necessarily the use of machines…  Read More…

Have You Tried Surf Set?

I am always saying we need to “step out of our comfort zones and just try new things”.  Well I put my words to the test last month when I attended the Fit Approach  Summer Solstice  event at Sweat Republic  in San Francisco. The event was introducing a  Surf Set class.  When I saw that my fellow “sweat pink” gurus were putting this on, I had to attend.  I love my sweat pink sistas  and am always up for meeting them whenever possible. ♥ First thing first, I had to make sure my hubby got home from work early that afternoon so he could get me to the city on time.  It was Nascar weekend here in Sonoma, so the traffic was a bit of a challenge getting out of here and I knew the clock was ticking to get there in time, follow the GPS directions to the event and…  Read More…

Uniquely Lorna Jane Is Here

Lorna Jane is in the house again {well my house anyway}.♥  I was so thrilled to have been contacted once again by Fit Approach and Uniquely Lorna Jane to receive and try another outfit.  If you have not heard of Lorna Jane, you will as she is heading this way and growing her brand from Australia to the U.S. I was given two pieces to try… the Mel Core Stability Tight and the Madi Excel Run Tank.  I love them both.  The top moves with me while running and since I am training for my first half marathon, running is a big deal right now, so is comfort.  The pants are AMAZING…oh my gosh, the way they fit just snug enough to hold me in place.  I love how the butt fits and picks me up {can I say that}? Again, as with all her pieces, each item has a…  Read More…

Let’s Talk Pure Barre

Hello everyone, if you have been {kind enough} to be reading and following along my posts, then you know that I have embarked on my Pure Barre journey around holiday season.  I had completed my first month and loved it so much, that I decided to take on the 60 Day Challenge.  I am now in week three of this challenge and want to chat about “small movements“. So classes are going fabulous.  I am excited to show up every day {sometimes twice in one day}.  I notice that we {the clients} are getting more comfortable with one another.  Whether we are smiling at one another or having chit chat, there does not seem to be any  judgement going on here,  just many women working on the same goal. Am I still looking around the room while doing our movements?  Sure I am, however, it is finally clicking.  You know…  Read More…
